When cleaning fresh water pearls, first wash them with clean water, and then soak them in salt water for 5 to 10 minutes. After washing, polish the pearls on a soft skin soaked in turpentine, then wipe away the dirt with a soft cloth, add salt and rub to remove the unpurified calcium carbonate of the pearls, wash them with clean water, put them into sodium dodecanoate solution and stir them, and rinse them with clean water.
Newly harvested pearls are often accompanied by body fluids, dirt and unpurified calcium carbonate. They need to be washed with clean water first, and then soaked in saline water for 5 to 10 minutes. After simple treatment, the pearl surface can be smooth and enhance luster.
If the pearls are left for too long, the luster may become dim, affecting the quality and reducing the value of the goods. After washing, the pearls are polished on a soft skin soaked in turpentine, and then ground with diatomite powder.
Then use a soft cloth to wipe off the dirt, add salt and knead to remove the unpurified calcium carbonate of the pearl, wash with clean water, remove it, then put it into sodium dodecanolate solution, stir for 3 to 5 minutes, rinse with clean water, wipe it off, and dry it.
