Diamonds are divided into grades according to weight. The higher the weight of the diamond, the higher the grade. According to color, the grade can be divided into 23 grades of D~ Z, of which D grade is the best. According to clarity, the grade can be divided into six grades such as FL and IF, and the FL grade is the best. According to cutting, it can be divided into five grades, and the 3EX level is the best.
When diamonds were graded by weight, the rarer the diamond with the greater weight, the higher the grade. And the weight unit of the diamond was "carat." One carat was equal to 0.2 grams, and it was also equal to 100 points. Diamonds with 50 points to 1 carat were more common in the market.
Diamonds can be divided into 23 grades according to color. Among them, the D-grade diamond has the best color and is completely colorless, which is a very rare diamond. The Z-grade diamond with the worst color is darker, light yellow, and the fire color effect is also relatively poor.
When diamonds are graded according to clarity, they can be divided into six grades: FL, IF, VVS, VS, SI, and I. Among them, FL-ranked diamonds have the best clarity. Diamonds of this grade cannot see any flaws under a 10x magnifying glass.
When diamonds are graded according to cut, they can be divided into five grades: EX, VG, G, F, and P. Among them, the diamond cut with EX grade is the best. And the diamond cut is divided into three aspects: polishing, symmetry, and cutting ratio. The best diamond cut requires all three aspects to reach EX level. The industry calls this level of diamond cut "3EX."
